Superstition Mountain Museum – Tonto National Forest, Arizona πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Superstition Mountain Museum is located in a rugged 160,000 acre Superstition Mountain range in the Tonto National Forest in Central Arizona. The museum’s focus, as presented in its official website, is on providing visitors with an experience of the Old West.

The museum provides a historical context that includes the region’s Native American people, the life of early western settlers, local geology and industry as well as the legends promoted through film and media. It offers a detailed exploration of the history of this region with artifacts, multi-media, testimonials and docent-led tours.

It os worth to note that the Superstitions are one of four mountains which mark the ancestral territory of the Apache People. The Village exhibit includes two brush structures, some call Wickiups (the Apache people call them β€œGowah” – our home); a cooking area and hide drying rack.
