This museum, which we visited during a long weekend that we spent at Playa del Carmen in Mexico, presents a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a fascinating journey through the history and art of chocolate, from its origins to its arrival in Europe and its transformation into the world’s (or almost everyone’s) favorite sweet.
As presented in its official website, the museum aims to transport you back in time as you explore the ancient traditions of cocoa, discover the secrets of chocolate production and admire an impressive collection of historical artifacts. From farming tools to antique kitchen utensils, each object presented in the museum tells a part of the history of chocolate.
I took some photos while visiting the museum, which are presented below. Definitely worth to spend a couple of hours at while being in Playa del Carmen.
